June of 1976 some of my roommate and I decided to go to Hawaii. I had a good friend whom was from there and had invited us over to stay with their family and I had a very good job making too much money for my good. We saved up the money and headed for Hawaii and had a delightful trip.
To my surprise when I got home whom was there waiting for me but Ed. He without hesitation asked me to marry him and we were married in November of that year. I was not out of Mesa community College and had a wonderful job and Ed was finishing up.
Within a month or so Ed found a job in Salt Lake City and by January of 1977 we were living in Salt Lake City, Ut. This was a great adventure for both of us. One year later he was offered a terrific job with Salt River Project in St Johns and we have been there since.

We met when we were young. To tell you the truth, neither of us remember when for Nanette's dad always worked for E. I. Whiting (Ed's grandfather) as his right hand man at the mill and Virgil was E.I.'s son.
